At 12:30pm on the 22nd November 1963, the 35th president of America, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, was assassinated in Dallas, Texas.
A man called Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested in a Dallas cinema at 1:50pm on the same day. He was arrested for allegedly shooting police officer JD Tippit, less than 45 minutes after Kennedy was assassinated. Before Oswald had even been charged with Tippit's murder, police were certain that Oswald killed the president.
