Bernard W. Weissman

A fervent anti-Communist and holder of extreme right wing views. Contact of General Edwin A. Walker, the John Birch Society and Young Americans for Freedom. On the evening of November 14th, he had a two-hour meeting at the Carousel Club with Jack Ruby and JD Tippit.

On the morning of November 22nd, The Dallas Morning News carried a full-page black bordered advertisement, like a mourning announcement. The advertisement was signed by Weissman who claimed that he did not know where the funds for the advertisement came from, except that they were delivered to him by Joseph P. Grinnan who was a co-ordinator in the John Birch Society.

The Commissions files show that the sum involved was $1465 and that one of the contributors was Nelson Bunker Hunt, a son of Howard L Hunt.
